Bohdie Christopher
Bodhie was born with a lump on his neck. And as if that wasn’t scary enough, there was more to come. Bodhie’s doctor referred Bodhie to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, where he underwent an MRI and ultrasound. After tests, Bohdie was diagnosed with a lymphangioma, a series of cysts forming on the lymph nodes.
Doctors at Wolfson Children’s Hospital discovered that Bodhie had several masses. Some had even formed tentacles around his organs. After discovery, he was referred to a specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio.
After his surgery in Ohio, Bodhie had follow-ups at Wolfson Children’s, including visits for some complications that surfaced after surgery. When Bodhie developed fluid in the chest, he was reexamined. He had tubes placed to drain the fluid, but it was also determined that the cysts had returned aggressively around his lungs and esophagus.
Bodhie had his second surgery at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, where he stayed at the hospital for 11 weeks. Bodhie and his family experienced the care and compassion of the hospital staff. Bodhie’s father Michael was grateful to have such a great hospital 45 minutes away as opposed to 15 hours away. There is no doubt that the quality of care Bodhie received came from being in a hospital devoted to treating children.
