Morgan Blackwell

When Morgan got sick and had lost 20 pounds, things seemed bleak for her family.

Morgan was diagnosed with an intestinal infection, clostridium difficile. The disease went unnoticed in the beginning. But when it really took its toll, Morgan came close to not being with her family.

Morgan spent one month at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. During that time, she had blood transfusions and two ileostomies to clear up the infections. During that time, Morgan and her family came to know the doctors, nurses and staff on a first name basis. And they know her as well.

Morgan’s medical team was very caring and specialized. The right combination to provide the medical and emotional care that a child needs when they are ill.

Following her final ileostomy, Morgan recovered completely. She is a beautiful, vibrant and happy girl who enjoys life like a child should. Morgan’s mom, Cindy, feels blessed to have such a gifted facility filled with such great people so close to home.
