Channel 4 Morning Show meteorologist Richard Nunn joined the Ultra Marathon shortly after
seeing a video Channel 4 produced for
our campaign.
"As soon as saw that Channel 4 was a proud partner of the 55 year celebration, I knew I wanted to do more. I enjoy pushing my limits. The Ultra Marathon will allow me to test my endurance threshold and shed light on the amazing things being done at Wolfson Children's Hospital."
Background
- Completed first marathon in Rome, Italy as part of Team D for the American Diabetes Association, 2001
- Hooked on running, began training other Team D members, 2002
- Took on the challenge of a lifetime and trained his wife to run her first Gate River Run in 2009
Passions/Interests
- Endurance Sports, volunteering for various children and health related organizations
- Honors Graduate, Le Cordon Bleu, Western Culinary Institute
- Hosting cooking classes that feature waistline friendly, wallet friendly meals
Running Career
- An endurance athlete/runner for 9 years
- Has completed 2 marathons, a few half marathons, tons of 3, 5, and 10 K runs
- Looking forward to his first triathlon in 2010
- His goal: after a few sprints and 1/2 triathlons, finish an Ironman...
2.4-mi swim + 112-mile bike ride + 26.3-mile run = 140.7 miles total
- The Wolfson Children’s Hospital Ultra Marathon will be his first ultra marathon
